Come Join a Free Showing of "A Place at the Table"
The Foodbank Network of Somerset County will host a free showing of the award-winning documentary "A Place at the Table" at 7:30 p.m. April 25 at the Liberty Corner Presbyterian Church.
The shows details how 38 million Americans face the challenge of hunger, from insufficient funds to a lack of healthy food choices. The show was nominated as Best Documentary at the Sundance Film Festival, and won the prestigious Pere Lorentz Award at the 2013 International Documentary Association Festival.
The LA Times said, "The Sundance Film Festival is chock full of documentaries this year about the troubles besetting America... but 'A Place at the Table' may rank among the most moving in that it tackles a seemingly straightforward, solvable problem: hunger in the United States."
Discussions about the ongoing hunger crisis will follow the show.
