In 2005 the Food Bank Network of Somerset County...

• Distributed approximately 350,000 pounds of food, of which about 80% was donated and the balance purchased by the Food Bank
• Assisted 403 people by paying for 946 prescriptions at a total cost of $46,018.90
• Paid $13,762 in utility bills for families in need
• Provided $13,000 in rent assistance
• Provided food for 260 Thanksgiving Day meals served at the People Care Center; distributed food for Thanksgiving Day meals to 650 families, and for Easter meals to 700 families
• Delivered 1,480 packages of food with turkeys or hams at Christmas and, with United Way, distributed 6,000 Christmas gifts
• Pediatric Dental Day Care program completed dental work for 56 children
• Assisted approximately 350 women returning to the workforce by supplying donated clothing
